How to Create Your Own Scotch Bar For Your Wedding
Above is our inspiration image from Pinterest. We want to show you how to create your own Scotch bar for your wedding We love the old-world style, florals, high-end scotch placements, and subtle decor that are on this Scotch bar. Let the Scotch speak for itself using its packaging and then add in glassware and decanters that you will keep on your home bar for entertaining long after the wedding is over. You may just want to register for these items in advance and use them on the wedding day. We’ll help you find all the pieces you need and give you some ideas on how to create your own scotch bar for your wedding, including scotch brands that will wow your guests.
1) Bar Carts With Wheels
Let’s start with finding the right bar cart for your wedding. Below in the left top corner, we found this one on Etsy for $85.00. The bronze metal and detail give it a mid-century vibe that we are loving. Below that there are two from Crate and Barrel, a brass one with leather wrapping – and a brass plated one with mirrored shelves. Both are a little more pricey coming in over $500, but make beautiful statement pieces for after the wedding is over. Moving on to the darker cart at the bottom left. This one is from Wayfair. The last two on the right are from Amazon. The bright gold one is a number one seller on Amazon and the smaller one on the bottom has several color variations. Here is a link to it from Amazon.
2) Decanters
Thank you Crate & Barrel for making shopping for decanters so easy. You have a great selection of spirit decanters all under $50. Each of these options would look amazing on your scotch cart. The combinations of a few of these would be very dramatic. Great opportunity for the Groom to pick his favorites. Top Left Elliott, Top Right Brixton, Bottom Left Spectrum, Bottom Right Hatch
3) Glassware
We found some of these classic rocks glasses to match some of the decanters above. Left Brixton, Top Right Hatch, Bottom Right: Ridgecrest
4) Scotch
You can’t have a Scotch bar without good scotch. Here are some of the best scotches to include on your bar cart. Note that you don’t need too many bottles. They can get pricey. Go with 4-6 bottles for your bar depending on your size wedding. One bottle will go a long way. We found our bottles at our local Total Wines & More and each is linked below. Once you have the Scotch add some candles and flowers and you are done!
From left to right:
McCallan 18 Year Sherry Oak Cask, Glenlivet 21 Year, Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Oban 14 Year, Laphroaig 10 Year Sherry Oak, Bruichladdich – The Classic Laddie, Lagavulin 16 Year, The Balvenie 21 Year Port Wood
Planning Tip
Have a “build your bar” party with your bridal party and close friends as a shower event and ask for a few of these bottles or build these into your planning budget and buy a bottle every few months until the wedding.
Happy Planning!
